Dr. MJ (Misong Jung)
I was born and grew up in Seoul, South Korea and it was my cat that lead me to this pathway of my life.
At the age of her late ’30s, I went to Chungnam National University, School of Veterinary Medicine. I graduated with the highest-ranking among the graduate class of 2014 and received the University President Award. In the summer of 2014, I came to the U.S. due to my family relocation. I continued my carrier by volunteering at the same animal hospital in Philadelphia PA. Upon completion of a full year of clinical rotations in 2015 by PAVE (Program for Assessment of Veterinary Education Equivalence) for the licensure of the U.S. And I was also awarded the Certificate of Merit for Excellence in Oncology at the graduation of the class of 2016 L.S.U.
I’ve been practicing in general medicine and emergency in Central PA and NewEngland since then. My interest in Veterinary medicine extended to integrative medicine as my cat gets older. I became a certified acupuncturist and was also fear free certified in 2018.
I reside in Mechanicsburg with her husband who is a great pediatrician and supporter, a son who loves football and basketball, and a cat, Yaboong who became 16 years old in 2018 and having acupuncture for his geriatric care. I believe that ‘life’ is a journey of learning. I was lucky to learn what I love to do for the rest of my life and thank you companion cat, Yaboong.
I graduated from Harcum Junior College with an Associates degree in Veterinary Technology in 1989. Soon after, I attended the Florida School of Dog Grooming and graduated with a master groom certification. With my degree and qualification, I established my own grooming business for 11 years, before moving to the Etters area. Here, I started work at Valley Green Veterinary Hospital in 1999 as a groomer and receptionist up until November 2017. Now, I am the co-owner and practice manager of this wonderful Veterinary Hospital. In my free time, I enjoy being with my three grandchildren and my pets robbie (corgi), Bentley (golden retriever), and my VERY spoiled cat Knobi.
I started at Valley Green Veterinary Hospital as a Certified Veterinary Technician when the hospital opened in April 1988. I graduated from Harcum Junior College with an Associate degree in Veterinary Technology in 1984. I helped my husband raise 3 daughters and we have 8 grandchildren. Currently, we are raising 1 cat and 1 Tibetan Spaniel. In our spare time, we like to travel.
I have been working at Valley Green Veterinary Hospital since May 2015, and have been working in the veterinary field for 9 years. After 2 years of schooling at YTI, I became a Certified Veterinary Technician in December 2017. In my spare time I enjoy sculpting, gardening, and gaming. You can usually find me playing with Roman, one of my many cats.
